Former All Black player Justin Marshall made his first public appearance
in England at Yarnbury RFC
The high profile Tykes player had only stepped off the plane at Leeds
Bradford Airport less than 24 hours before on his long journey from New
Zealand.
Yarnbury were hosting the Leeds Tykes Summer Camp and it was decided
that Justin should come along to be presented to the national press, and to
unveil the new Tykes shirt and to meet all the young players.
After a photo shoot on the pitch Justin came into the packed club house
and spoke about how he first started playing rugby – bare foot! – and about his
career as an All Black.
John Bentley organised a question and answer session and Justin stayed
on and posed for photos with players and parents.
Even though he had been travelling for 24 hours Justin had stayed up the
night before and had signed nearly 150 photos of himself which were given to
everyone who attended the Summer Camp.
